Director's Welcome

Welcome to the Salt Lake Inner City Project Website!

We are pleased with your interest in this great work and welcome your further inquiry about service with us.

If you know the joy of assisting someone to improve his/her condition in life and relationship with the Lord, you will understand already what our missionaries feel virtually every day of their inner city service.

Many scriptures refer to the Lord’s admonitions to his children to help the poor and needy. Two such scriptures serve as important guideposts for the Inner City Project, although there are many more:

1. In Matthew 25, we are reminded that “inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” As noted above, this is the scriptural theme of the Salt Lake Inner City Project. We know from experience and whisperings of the Spirit that helping our fellow beings is truly service to our Father in Heaven. What greater blessing could there be?

2. King Benjamin’s important sermon, found in the first six chapters of Mosiah, is very important in gaining an understanding of missionary work in the Project. Many of the purposes and principles of inner city missionary work are found in this inspirational address. You will thrill as you read the instructions and promised blessings therein.

If you have questions about service in the Inner City Project, please refer to the “Are You Interested In Serving?” link on our home page. We invite you to then make further inquiry of your bishop and join us in this work which is truly the work of the Lord!

Sincerely,

Dean R. Hodson
